Work-Based Learning
-
Work Based Learning is the capstone course for each pathway and integrates classroom learning with productive learning experiences. Students connect what they learned in the classroom with work-site application to enable a smooth transition to the workforce.
By creating a safe, consistent, and welcoming environment, Morrow High School Magnet Program helps to foster the confidence and curiosity of our students. Each day is enriched with hands-on experiences and group activities, providing ample opportunities for pupils to improve their knowledge-base while developing social skills. See the classes being offered at Morrow High School Magnet Program.
ENGINEERING, DESIGN, & DRAFTING PATHWAY
The Morrow High school engineering program prepares students to become college and
career-ready through the use of hands-on experiments that help students make real-world
connections. This is a three-year program that will give your student an introduction to Drafting and Design where they will learn the ins and outs of geometric construction with different professional computer software. Students will also be able to engage in learning how to construct, wire, and program VEX robots and learn how to set up and create designs with 3D printers. Our engineering program will not only allow students to engage in the classroom but also outside of the classroom as they will be able to join the Technology Student Association. TSA is a club here at Morrow High School that works as an extension of the classroom where students get to meet once or twice a month to talk about career goals and TSA competitions. The competitions give students the opportunity to network with like-minded students and allow them to show off the work they’ve been doing all year. At the end of this three-year program, students will be prepared to take an engineering exam that will provide them with professional credentials that will help students attain internships and acceptances into the country’s top engineering schools

The Aeronautical Sciences program is designed to provide high quality, hands-on college and career readiness experiences and will assist in meeting the future demand in the aerospace industry by engaging our students in a rigorous, engaging, and comprehensive curriculum. Students can earn a variety of industry certifications as they learn the skills necessary on new high-end, professional-grade simulators. Through an Aviation & Innovation Career Academy, students will be able to enter into a thriving industry that is ever-evolving. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the busiest and most efficient airport in the world and, by some accounts, the best in North America. ATL is the economic jewel of Georgia, generating a $34.8 billion economic impact for metro Atlanta and providing more than 63,000 jobs onsite, making it the state’s largest employer. There are also aviation mechanics and aerospace companies with an economic output was $63.7 billion. That's a significant piece of our economy and in 2016, Georgia aerospace received $6.4 billion in defense contracts. Whether a student pursues aeronautics, aviation flight, aviation mechanics, or becomes a drone pilot – we are preparing students before graduating from high school with skills that business and industry desire.
